MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped him break into mainstream Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu, the song that he released in 2016, was awarded the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for the Best Song. In Medellin, the Sony label La Industria Inc. released ADN his debut long player. Its Top Latin Albums chart ranked ADN at the 8th spot. In the following year, he teamed up with Ozuna to create Vaina Loca which climbed to the top of five on the chart of Top Latin Albums. In the year 2020, he teamed up with Noriel for Mala Influencia and released the album Dopamina the next year. Later in 2021, he performed as a duo with TINI on her streaming smash track Maldita Foto. The smash hit La Bachata from 2000 was made available in 2023. Turizo was a member of an musical family. His elder brother and mom are also musicians. In interviews, he has stated that music is compulsory. As a child he learned how to play the saxophone, as well as piano and ukulele. The first goal was to be a vet, but after his brother Julian encouraged him to take singing lessons from an Cuban singer, he changed the direction of his career.
